Curtin, School Community Create Soup Bowls for Charity Event

Curtin Intermediate School and district families gathered in the school's cafeteria to create bowls for the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank's upcoming Soup and a Bowl fundraiser event on Feb. 21. Adult and student hands were kept busy for a two-hour stretch of time as many bowls were created for the benefit, which will be decorated by students in their art classes.

Students in Marilouise Mazzante's social studies classes this week assumed the roles of past dignitaries to discuss issues of the Enlightenment Era. In roundtable debates and in salon fashion, the students used their research to intelligently debate topics of the time period, such as science vs. religion and the right to education for the empowerment of the people.
